Our infrastructure continues to grow as we strive to process INSANE amounts of data. Are you ready for a challenge? We've got a big one for the right systems administrator. We're looking for an intelligent and competent systems administrator who will thrive in a dynamic environment. We’re searching for someone who is up to the challenge of joining a team responsible for an expanding infrastructure of hundreds of servers, and devoted to maintaining uptime in our 24/7 web services environment.
As the Sr. Systems Administrator at Discovery Mining, you will work on all aspects of our infrastructure: cluster administration, storage, DNS, email, security, networking, monitoring, etc. You will not be bored, we can guarantee that. We have a fast-paced environment, so you should work well under pressure. You should come equipped with knowledge and methods to help us do the job right the first time. Leadership/people skills are also desired, as you will manage a small team (3) of Jr. Systems Administrators.
Requirements:
- At least five years experience as a Systems Administrator working primarily in a Linux/UNIX environment
- Working knowledge of Perl and/or shell scripting
- Love Linux
- Strong automation skills/tendencies/habits/lifestyle choices
- Managerial skills
Bonus points for:
- Successes in solving difficult scaling problems
- Experience maintaining a web site with 24/7 HA requirements
- Cluster management know-how
